Made of a flexible, multi-layered material that can hold up to 24,000 liters of liquid, the flexitank is filled through a valve on the top of the flexitank. Once the tank is full, the valve is closed, and the container is sealed for shipment.
During transportation, the flexitank is designed to flex and move with the container as it travels to its import or export destination. The tank's flexible material helps prevent damage to the container and its contents from movement and vibration during transit. The multi-layered construction of the flexitank also provides a high level of protection against leaks and punctures.
When the flexitank reaches its destination, the liquid can be unloaded through the same valve used to load it. The empty flexitank is removed from the shipping container, collapsed, disposed of, or recycled if possible.
ASF flexitanks are a convenient and cost-effective solution for transporting large quantities of liquids, especially compared to traditional bulk liquid transportation methods like drums or intermediate bulk containers.
The ASF Flexitanks team of experts will help guide you on the proper flexitank size for your commodity based upon the specific gravity and relative density of your product, and the maximum over the road weights at origin and destination. ASF Flexitanks must be filled within 3% +/- of the flexitank size to ensure a safe transit as well as to stay within the parameters of our Manufacturers Liability agreement.
